Donating Clothing in Ithaca
As Ithaca is home to the Opportunity Boutique, we are always accepting donations. You can simply walk in during normal business hours, or you have the option to call ahead and schedule a drop off. If you need a receipt for your donation, please call ahead and schedule an appointment to ensure staff availability.
We accept clothing donations 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday.
If you stop by and we happen to be closed, please feel free to utilize the donation boxes in the back of the building.
Donation Requirements:
All donations should be in good condition; Please do not donate clothing or items that have developed mold, have stains, a strong odor, ripped/torn, broken zipper, buttons that don’t button, snaps that don’t snap, faded, has been heavily worn, etc. We strive to provide ready-to-use clothing and products to women who need them.
We accept:
Adult-sized clothing, in good condition.
Shoes, jewelry, handbags, belts, jackets, and other accessories
Baby-sized clothing
Baby formula (Enfamil/Similac), bottles, toys, wipes, diapers (emphasis on sizes 5 and up)
Toilet paper, paper towels, household cleaning products
Non-perishable food items (not expired)
TCAT/RTS/Centro bus passes
Laundry detergent, fabric softeners, dryer sheets, and laundry cards.
NEW, unopened feminine hygiene products, (preferably unscented); pads, tampons, feminine wipes & washes
NEW, unopened shampoos, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes/paste/flossers, etc. (Travel sized items too!)
NEW, unopened socks, underwear, and bras.
NEW, unopened over-the-counter medications; Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Excedrine, Pamprin, Midol, etc.

Download and fill out before dropping off your donation, or we can do it for you! Just be sure to schedule an appointment for your drop off to ensure a staff member will be on site to sign.
WOC Cares in Syracuse
Please note: Those who utilize our Syracuse Cares Closet don’t often have the means to carry large items home. For our clients’ convenience, we request travel-size or compact individual size bottles when possible. We strive to keep basic hygiene and cleaning supplies available to participants in Syracuse.
We gladly accept donations of the following items.

Unopened over-the-counter medications
Deodorant
Unscented pads & tampons
Diapers, sizes 6 and 7
Baby formula & food

(or alternatives - Reduce, Re-use, Recycle!)
***At this time, our Syracuse office is not able to accept clothing donations. As you clean out your or the closets of loved ones, please consider donating to The Interfaith Community Collective instead. Hundreds of Syracusans visit their free clothing room every week. Your items are made available to the people of Syracuse immediately and for free. Best drop off times are Saturday/Sunday afternoons, 1-3pm at 324 University Ave. Syracuse, 13210 or contact Galyn Murphy-Stanley at galyn@iccsyr.org or Joyce Flynn at jhflynn56@gmail.com for additional drop off times.
