EVENTS COMING UP IN SYRACUSE!

Elizabeth Evett is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Author, Wellness Coach, and Founder of Speaking Emotions LLC. With over a decade of experience supporting women and families, her work now focuses on real-life self-care — the kind that actually fits into busy, full lives.

Liz talks about emotional regulation, personal responsibility, and the everyday ways women can care for themselves without stepping away from the people who rely on them. Her approach is honest, practical, and interactive — blending professional insight with lived experience.

A mom of two and wife to a Navy Veteran, Liz understands firsthand how easy it is to lose yourself while holding everything together. She speaks candidly about what it means to show up well for others without abandoning yourself in the process — offering tools women can actually use in daily practice.

We’d love for you to be here in person!
Also available via Zoom from anywhere!

This workshop explores the emotional and psychological drivers behind financial behavior, especially for women who feel stagnant in their finances. Together, we’ll unpack how holding excess cash can feel like safety, how control and dependence shape money habits, and how early experiences can lead to a scarcity mindset that carries into adulthood. We’ll also examine why timing often feels like something we wait for, along with the role of regret aversion, fear of being wrong, and how inaction can feel safer than action, even when it’s not. Throughout the session, participants will reflect, relate, and reframe their experiences in a supportive, judgment-free environment while exploring the emotional barriers to trusting guidance and accepting help.

Intended Transformation:
To shift your mindset from fear to confidence through reflection and resources to increase your financial wellbeing.

Who would benefit from this workshop?

  • Women who wait for the “right time” or more certainty before making decisions

  • Women who struggle to fully trust financial guidance or delegate

  • Women who avoid decisions out of fear of regret

Walk Away with...

  • A deeper understanding of why they think and feel the way they do about money

  • Language to identify emotional barriers like fear, control, and hesitation

  • Reassurance that accepting help or guidance does not mean losing control

Gail Tosh will be presenting Bridge to Manufacturing Careers on Wednesday, September 9th! For those of you considering going back to school, those who need a career earning more money, or just need to get a foot in the door! We’d love to see you in person for this event!

Meet Your Syracuse Staff!

Mara (“mahr-uh”)
Resource Navigator

Tere (“tree”)
Life Coach

Mara is likely the first person you’ll speak with in Syracuse. Her Schedule at work is pretty flexible; she’ll do her best to work with you while you’re available! She’ll take care of your initial client paperwork, then introduce you to our life coach! Mara also oversees the Cares Closet in Syracuse - if you’re in need of physical items, reach out! In some cases, she may be able to special order goods up from our Ithaca office.

Tere is WOC’s life coach! Once you become a client of WOC, you’ll be able to utilize Tere’s personalized life coaching sessions. Tere’s schedule is a bit more rigid, so it’s important to be on time to your appointments with her. She works with clients in both locations and appreciates your punctuality! You and Tere will schedule your life coaching sessions together. There is no limitation on number of sessions you can have, and the length of each session is also determined together.
